What is Sea Scouts
Sea Scouts, BSA is a program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women ages 14-21. But there is no requirement that you’ve ever been involved in Scouting in any way.
For over 100 years Sea Scouting has promoted better citizenship and improved members’ boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.
The Sea Scout Program
Sea Scout units– called ships- are established all across the country on oceans, bays, rivers, and lakes. They provide limitless opportunities and exciting challenges that you won’t find anywhere else and are a place to grow and learn, find adventure, and build long lasting friendships.
Why Sea Scouts?
It starts with fun and adventure, but it’s so much more than that.
Sea Scouts learn both to lead and to follow.
As they advance through the ranks, they learn important and valuable skills, some of which date back centuries.
They develop self-discipline and attention to detail.
They make friends that can last a lifetime.
For those who are interested, they can develop connections and skills that help prepare them for a either a civilian or a military career on the water.
Resume building activities and scholarships.
Formal and informal training on leadership, boating, and skills such as first aid, CPR, and more.
